About the Image
I was out hill topping with the Piedmont Fox Hounds in late March. I had parked my car on top of a hill, and heard the hounds baying in the creek bottom. I was standing outside my car waiting for some action when suddenly this fox came running towards me. She was not scared of me or the car, and she ran right by me. I caught the fox on film and created this painting of the photograph. I painted a whipper-in in the landscape. This outrider spots the fox and lifts his cap and screams “Tally-Ho” to let the huntsman know where the fox is heading.
A veterinarian told me that this fox is a vixen and pregnant. I was happy that she got away.
